The glory days of the Zuiderzee
Local history and contemporary art, that's what the Huizer Museum is all about. Here you will learn about the history of the former fishing village on the Zuiderzee, but also about farm life in Huizen, through paintings, drawings, and prints. Much attention is paid to the special Huizer costume from the period 1850-1950.

How to reach the Huizer Museum by public transport?
Huizen and the Huizer Museum is easily accessible by public transport.
By Train:
Take the train to Hilversum, Naarden-Bussum, or Almere Centrum station.
By Bus:
From Hilversum Station: Take bus 320 towards Huizen and get off at Pleinkerk. The museum is a 2-minute walk from there.
From Naarden-Bussum Station: Take bus 100 or 107 towards Huizen and get off at Prins Bernhardplein. It’s a 5-minute walk to the museum.
From Almere Centrum Station: Take bus 322 towards Huizen and get off at Huizen Bus Station. From there, it’s about a 10-minute walk, or you can take a local bus.

From Amsterdam / Utrecht: Take the A1 and exit at Exit 8 (Blaricum/Huizen). Follow the signs to Huizen.
